How did your career journey lead to change and configuration management?
Many years ago, I worked in the Quality Group as a lead inspector for Motorola. I dealt with the review, approval, and implementation of many Engineering Change Orders. I became an active member of the Change Control Board. I found the whole process to be very interesting. When an opening became available, I applied for the position of Configuration Analyst. From there I became the chairperson of the Change Control Board. I now manage the Product Configuration Management team for Bose. People often asked me “why did you stay involved in change and configuration management?” The answer is simple, I’m inquisitive. I like knowing about all the different products, processes, and people. It’s one of the best ways to truly understand what is happening within a company.

What was your introduction to CM2?
Upon joining Bose as the Product Configuration Management Manager, my team talked about the formalized CM 2 training they had completed. I wanted to understand about the excitement and energy of the team, so I enrolled in the course and continued until I received my Professional Certification.

How has CM2 been beneficial to your career growth?
When I think about how CM2 has benefitted my career, the first thing that comes to mind is Respect. Having a CM2 Professional certification has allowed me to be recognized as a subject matter expert. In addition, and a very important benefit, is having the support of the IpX team and the Congress Members. Their collective knowledge goes far beyond my individual knowledge. And often, just getting the validation from them that I am on the right path enhances my performance and respect for the position I hold.

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?
I am always working on increasing my knowledge of the overall change and configuration management process. I believe I will continue to do that if I am in the working force.

What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I am a Christmas Decoration fanatic. I love everything about the holiday and every room in the house gets decorated. In fact, I have 100’s of nutcrackers and all of them have been wearing their covid masks for the past two years.

What do you do for fun?
I love spending time with my family. I am truly blessed with the greatest siblings, husband, kids, and grandkids. They are my fun. However, when I need a break from all that fun I love to read.
