How did your career journey lead to change and configuration management?
I was first introduced to Change Management when I was working for the 787 Wing Engineering Team. I inherited the Change Notice Revision Requests. I started reporting to the Director. That led to me owning CCB0. I had no real understanding of Change or Configuration Management. This was a trial by fire. Later, I was offered a position as Change Manager for the Interiors Responsibility Center.
What was your introduction to CM2?
The Change Board Chairman for the IRC was already well into CM2 and recommended that I get certified. I went and sat under Ray. At that point, I “drank the Kool-Aid”.
How has CM2 been beneficial to your career growth?
CM2 has impacted my career in many ways. It has allowed me not only the solid foundation for proper CM, but the ability and respect to be able to assist several groups from refining current processes to completely build CM processes and tools from the ground up.
What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?
I am currently working on learning more on investing and making my money work harder for me than I work for it.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I am looking to retire early in Brazil or the DR.
What do you do for fun?
Hiking, biking, camping, four wheeling, shooting and throwing blades. I have coached my son in soccer, along with training him in martial arts and wrestling since he was 3.
I just bought a TJ Wrangler. My son and I have turned it into our perfect camp rig: replaced the radiator, all 8 control arms, a 3” lift, new springs, new shocks, steering stabilizer, brakes, full exhaust, extended fender flares, tune up, fluid change, and new wheels and tires. Next up: the stereo.
