CM Analyst IV
CM2-Professional Certification, 2018
IPX Congress Member Profile
How did your career journey lead to change and configuration management?
I joined Emerson/Micro Motion in 1992 as a drafter/designer. A position became available in the CM department and I decided that it sounded interesting even though I really didn’t know what CM was! I have been very happy with my decision as I totally enjoy the opportunities that CM offers and the ability to utilize my problem solving skills. I also appreciate the role of orchestrating changes and ensuring that implementation is valid across the organization.
What was your introduction to CM2?
Shortly after joining the CM department, I was offered the chance to attend the IpX CM2 certification courses. I took Courses 01 – 06 and became a CM2-C. A few years ago, I took the CM2-P courses. I then joined the congress.
How has CM2 been beneficial to your career growth?
I’ve learned so much from other IpX congress members and have gleaned tips on how things are done elsewhere and have gained a sense of where we are at on our CM journey at Emerson/Micro Motion and what we’ve accomplished and the opportunities for advancement that exist.
What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?
I am working on strengthening the role on CM in our organization. I believe that CM is critical and I enjoy being a champion for how we can contribute to the overall success. I mainly work on New Product Development and enjoy working together as a team and helping the organization release quality products on time.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
I volunteer with Kairos Prison Ministry and go into Denver Women’s Correctional facility to share God’s love with the women there.
What do you do for fun?
I love being outside in the great Colorado outdoors, hiking, snowshoeing, and playing tennis.
I also love to travel, with New England being my favorite place!
