TOPIC: REQUIREMENT WARS: EPISODE I A LOST HOPE?

CM2 processes coupled with PLM have the potential to enable Integrated Process Excellence (IPE) to keep requirements clear, concise, valid, and maintain a balance in the Force. The emergence of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) has led to a disturbance in this balance of the Force. Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) can enhance the coordinated, efficient definition, architecture, design, verification, validation and modification of an integrated system beginning early in a program lifecycle. A requirements war is looming and it is easy to lose hope in understanding how CM2/IPE/PLM/Requirements Management/MBSE all can/should interact; this presentation aims to add clarity and share Orbital ATK’s perspective on the battle for the heart and soul of a requirement.
