Adelante Shoe Co. was born of the desire to do things different; not just footwear or fashion, but for-profit business at large. Time spent working in Central America after college exposed the founding team to the dark side of profit maximization.
Be it low pay, poor working conditions, or illegal practices; revenue pursuit at all cost leads to a profit over people mentality. The Adelante team fell into the fashion business sideways. No team member has fashion or footwear experience, rather
each has cut their teeth in the non-profit or impact investing spaces. Determined to retool for-profit business and break free from stale industry standards, the Adelante team seeks to pave a new path.
Adelante is on the cutting edge of this movement. It was founded on principles of economic development and social mobility leading them to create the Living Well Line. The Living Well Line is a social impact methodology created to define the relative
cost of living well in a given community anywhere in the world. The methodology works by balancing an econometric analysis of World Bank data with individual interviews to define the goods and services needed to live well in a specific location. Learn
